Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade has become one of the most in-demand names of the summer transfer window — and his club are determined not to let him go on the cheap. Following a sensational Bundesliga season and a standout UEFA U21 European Championship campaign, Stuttgart have set an asking price of €60 million (£50m/$64m), according to Bild, as they prepare to fend off bids from Europe’s elite.
The 23-year-old forward scored 12 goals in 28 Bundesliga matches this past season and has added six more goals in Germany’s run to the U21 Euro final. His electric form has caught the attention of Bayern Munich, who view him as a long-term heir to Harry Kane, while Chelsea are considering a move to boost their forward options with young talent. Real Madrid have also entered the scouting picture.
Stuttgart’s valuation reflects both his current form and his long-term potential. Despite having just one full breakout season behind him, Woltemade has shown composure, aerial dominance, and playmaking vision rarely seen in forwards of his age and profile. The price tag, while steep, is Stuttgart’s firm message that they will only sell if the deal is right.
Woltemade’s market value has skyrocketed over the past 12 months. At this time last year, he had only two Bundesliga goals from four seasons at Werder Bremen. Now, after a transformative spell at Stuttgart and a senior Germany debut, his reputation — and price — have soared.
In the U21 Euros alone, he delivered a hat-trick against Slovenia, scored in the semi-final win over France, and contributed in every knockout match. Ahead of Sunday’s final clash with England, scouts from across Europe are expected in attendance.
Despite the interest, Stuttgart hope to retain Woltemade for at least another year as they prepare for European competition. But with clubs like Bayern and Chelsea circling and a clear valuation now set, a bidding war may just be a matter of time.
